The Los Angeles Times seeks an ambitious mission-driven leader to take the reins of High School Insider, a growing youth journalism startup at the largest metropolitan newspaper in the country.
HS Insider works with over 270 schools and 2,400 students to help them define the high school experience and empower them to make their voices heard. Since the program launched in late 2014, we’ve published nearly 5,000 student stories. We work with English, history, ethnic studies, as well as journalism classes to help students publish everything from cartoons and fiction to documentaries and opinion pieces. Throughout the year, HS Insider offers one-of-a-kind opportunities such as paid internships, events, contests and conferences.
We've accomplished a lot over the past three plus years, and we're looking for our next leader!
The Project Lead is responsible for all aspects of the program, including strategic, operational and managerial duties.
